For 30 to 100 guests, an event space in Petaling Jaya or Subang Jaya costs RM900 to RM2,150 for a half day and RM1,200 to RM4,300 for a full day before add-ons, at halls with published rates. The one hotel with a published price charges per head: Sunway Resort Hotel, at RM280+ a person, so 60 guests is RM16,800+.
This post compares nine venues, from hotels to coworking halls, with our own Bandar Sunway event hall among them. Every capacity and price was read off the venue's own website on 21 October 2026, each entry names a real trade-off, and where a venue does not publish a price, the table says so. For venues on the KL side, see our comparison of 10 event spaces in KL and PJ.
You will notice that some names from Google Maps are missing. Of the 15 independent event venues we checked in PJ and Subang Jaya, 11 have no website of their own, so there was no first-hand price to read, and this list only prints figures that trace back to the operator.
How much does an event space cost in PJ and Subang Jaya?
At the six halls with published rates, the main hall runs from RM900 for four hours at H Space to RM4,300 for a full day at WORQ Bandar Utama. A half day means three to four hours, five of the six charge more for evenings or weekends, and the one hotel with a published price charges per head, food included.

Prices checked on 21 October 2026, on each venue's own website.

The nine venues, one by one
1. Sunway Resort Hotel, Bandar Sunway
Sunway Resort Hotel's Green Meetings package is an introductory RM280+ a person, with a minimum of 15 guests. It includes a coffee break and lunch built on locally sourced ingredients, bottled or infused water at every seat and shared writing materials, and the hotel has over 30 function rooms that partition to size. The trade-off is the per-head maths: 80 guests comes to RM22,400+, several times the hall rates below, though lunch is included, and the package page does not say how many hours it covers.
2. Dorsett Grand Subang, SS12
Dorsett's three Subang rooms, on the mezzanine floor, each seat 90 theatre, 40 classroom or 70 at banquet tables, with a motorised screen, a projector and free WiFi, and the hotel has parking bays for up to 150 vehicles. The price is on request; no meeting package is published. The trade-offs are that you cannot compare it until a quote comes back, and classroom seating cuts a Subang room from 90 to 40.
3. Geno Hotel, Taman Subang Mas
Geno publishes a capacity chart for its function rooms, and several sit squarely in this range: Libra seats 80 theatre or 50 classroom, Taurus 80 in either layout, and Aries 120 theatre or 80 classroom. The rooms have AV with LED screens and fast internet, and an in-house banquet team handles setup and catering. The trade-offs: the price is on request, and the hotel describes its location as between Shah Alam and Subang Jaya, a longer drive for guests coming from PJ.
4. WORQ Subang, UOA Business Park
WORQ publishes weekday estimates for two halls here. The Full Hall seats 100 theatre or 40 classroom at RM1,900 for a fixed half day (9am to 12:30pm or 2:30pm to 6pm), RM2,850 for five flexible hours or RM3,800 for 9am to 6pm; the Front Hall seats 80 theatre or 30 classroom at RM1,400, RM2,100 and RM2,800. Each session includes an hour for setup, the projector and PA are included, and you can use WORQ's panel caterers or bring your own for a RM100 admin fee. The building is a three-minute walk from Subang Jaya KTM and LRT. The trade-offs: classroom seating cuts the Full Hall to 40, evenings and weekends need at least one usher at RM100 an hour, and parking is a day rate from RM18. For your invite, note that WORQ gives this outlet a Shah Alam address, postcode 40150.
5. WORQ Bandar Utama, KPMG Tower
On Level 15 of KPMG Tower, WORQ's Event Hall seats 100 theatre or 50 classroom at RM2,150 for a fixed half day, RM3,225 for five hours or RM4,300 for the full day; with the balcony added for networking, it is RM2,795, RM4,200 and RM5,590. The projector and PA are included, panel caterers are available, Bandar Utama MRT is a five-minute walk, and the tower has basement parking with a covered link to 1 Utama, plus valet on First Avenue at RM5 an hour. The trade-off is price: this is the highest hall rate in the comparison, for a hall the same size as WORQ Subang's, 1,500 sq ft.
6. H Space, KPMG Tower, Bandar Utama
Three floors up in the same tower, H Space publishes the lowest hall rates in this comparison: RM900 for four hours or RM1,200 for eight in working hours, RM1,200 and RM1,600 outside them, and RM225 or RM300 for each extra hour. The venue holds up to 80, with a sound system, microphones and display screens included, and the building connects to 1 Utama and Bandar Utama MRT. The trade-offs: 80 is the ceiling, the page does not cover catering or parking, and a deposit is needed to hold the date.
7. AstraNova PJ LED Event Space, 10 Boulevard
AstraNova is a fifth-floor studio in 10 Boulevard, next to the LDP by the Damansara toll, built around a 4m by 2.2m LED screen with sound mixing, four handheld microphones, a 50cm stage and a VIP holding room. It seats 60 to 80 theatre comfortably, up to 100 with extra seating, or 50 at round tables. The price is one line: RM1,500 for eight weekday hours, RM1,800 on weekends, RM200 for each hour after eight, and RM200 or RM400 for the VIP room. Covered basement parking is a real advantage in PJ. The trade-offs: there is no catering, so you bring your own and pay RM150 for cleaning if food is served, and eight hours is the only block, which is poor value for a two-hour evening talk.
8. SVOFO, Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara
SVOFO's seminar hall seats 100 theatre, 80 classroom or 40 at banquet tables, so it keeps most of its seats when you add tables. It costs RM1,500 for four hours (9am to 1pm or 2pm to 6pm) or RM2,000 for eight, with the stage, projector and screen, PA, wireless mics and WiFi included. MRT Surian is two to three minutes' walk away, there is basement parking in Sunway Nexis, the hall is open daily from 9am to 11pm, and SVOFO describes itself as HRDC friendly. The trade-offs: the rates exclude SST, bringing your own caterer carries a surcharge the site does not price, and there is no hourly booking.

9. Sandbox Space, Bandar Sunway
Our hall. It seats 40 to 100 depending on the layout (theatre, classroom, banquet or open networking) and has hosted launches for Sony and ASUS. Rates are RM550 an hour, RM1,500 for three hours, RM2,200 for five or RM3,200 for 9am to 6pm, with a projector, speaker, wireless mic, basic PA, WiFi and a water dispenser included, and no SST on the rental. We arrange catering through a halal-certified partner kitchen, from about RM20 a head for bento. The fine print is on our event space page: RM300 if you bring outside food (waived for light refreshments), RM150 cleaning whenever food is served, RM150 flat outside 9am to 6pm, and a 50% deposit. We are five minutes' walk from Sunway University and Monash.
The honest trade-offs: there is no MRT (the nearest public transport is the BRT Sunway Line and Setia Jaya KTM), the street parking is paid during weekday working hours and free at night and at weekends, there is no whiteboard in the hall, and tear-down is your team's job. The hall is sized from 40 guests; for 30 or fewer, the Training Room at the same branch fits better, with 13 to 30 seats, an HDTV and a whiteboard for RM148 an hour or RM1,100 a day, listed on our meeting rooms page. The Bandar Sunway branch page has the address and opening hours.

What does a three-hour weekday morning for 80 guests cost?
For a three-hour weekday morning with 80 guests in theatre rows, the room costs RM900 to RM2,150 at the halls that publish prices, because each sells a different block of time. On Sunway Resort Hotel's per-head package, the same morning runs past RM20,000 with food. On the published rates:
- H Space: RM900 for its four-hour block, with 80 as the room's limit
- WORQ Subang, Front Hall: RM1,400 for the 9am to 12:30pm session, with 80 theatre as its maximum
- Sandbox Space, Bandar Sunway: RM1,500 for three hours
- AstraNova: RM1,500, because eight weekday hours is its only block
- SVOFO: RM1,500 plus SST for its four-hour half day
- WORQ Subang, Full Hall: RM1,900 for the same WORQ session
- WORQ Bandar Utama: RM2,150 for the same WORQ session
- Sunway Resort Hotel: RM22,400+ at RM280+ a head, with a coffee break and lunch
- Dorsett Grand Subang and Geno Hotel: on quote only
The cheapest room is not always the cheapest event. Food for 80 can cost more than the hall, so weigh each venue's catering rules alongside the room rate.

How to choose, from someone who runs one of these rooms
Count by layout, not by the headline number. The headline figure is usually theatre seating. Add tables and the room shrinks: WORQ Subang's Full Hall goes from 100 to 40 and Dorsett's Subang rooms from 90 to 40, while SVOFO keeps 80 and Geno's Taurus room keeps all 80. Decide the format first, then compare.
Price the food with the room. Sunway Resort Hotel's package folds lunch and a coffee break into the per-head rate; the halls charge for the room, then set their own rules for outside food, listed in the FAQ below. For a seminar with lunch, the food can cost as much as the hall, so get both in one quote before you compare venues.
Match the venue to how your guests travel. If most come by train, start with the three buildings within a five-minute walk of a station: WORQ Subang's, SVOFO's, and KPMG Tower, home to WORQ Bandar Utama and H Space. If they drive, covered or free parking matters more: AstraNova's basement is covered, Dorsett has bays for up to 150 vehicles, and the street parking outside our hall is free at night and at weekends.
Read the time rules. We sell by the hour or in three-hour, five-hour and full-day blocks; WORQ's fixed sessions are three and a half hours, SVOFO and H Space start at four, and AstraNova sells only eight. A two-hour talk and a full-day workshop can land at different venues for price alone, and five of the six halls with published prices charge more for evenings or weekends.
Check the deposit before you pay. WORQ asks for full payment plus a RM500 refundable security deposit within seven days of the invoice, and H Space requires a deposit to hold the date. Ours is 50%, with the balance due seven days before, and you can cancel for a full refund within 72 hours of paying if the event is at least seven days away.
If our hall suits your date, send Sunny your date and headcount on WhatsApp for a written, itemised quote, or read the full rate card on our Bandar Sunway event space page.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to rent an event space for 50 people in PJ or Subang Jaya?
On the rates published on 21 October 2026, the hall alone costs RM900 (H Space, four hours) to RM2,150 (WORQ Bandar Utama, fixed half day) for a half day, and RM1,200 to RM4,300 for a full day. A hotel package is priced per head instead: at Sunway Resort Hotel's RM280+ a person, 50 guests is RM14,000+ including a coffee break and lunch.
Is a hotel or a coworking event hall cheaper for 30 to 100 guests?
For the room alone, the hall is far cheaper, because the hotel package here prices per person with food built in. Add food and the gap narrows but stays wide: 60 guests for three hours in our hall with self-served bento comes to roughly RM3,000 (RM1,500 for the hall, about RM1,200 for the food plus 6% SST on it, RM50 delivery and RM150 cleaning), against RM16,800+ on Sunway Resort Hotel's package, which does include lunch and a coffee break.
Can I bring my own caterer to an event space in PJ?
Usually, with conditions. WORQ charges a RM100 administration fee, SVOFO adds an own-catering surcharge, AstraNova has no catering so you bring your own and pay RM150 for cleaning if food is served, and we charge RM300 (waived for light refreshments or finger food) plus RM150 cleaning. Hotel packages such as Sunway Resort Hotel's already include the food.
Which event spaces in PJ and Subang Jaya are near a train station?
WORQ Subang is a three-minute walk from Subang Jaya KTM and LRT. SVOFO is two to three minutes' walk from MRT Surian. KPMG Tower, home to WORQ Bandar Utama and H Space, is a five-minute walk from Bandar Utama MRT. Our Bandar Sunway hall has no MRT; the nearest public transport is the BRT Sunway Line and Setia Jaya KTM.
Do evening and weekend events cost more?
At five of the six halls with published prices, yes. AstraNova is RM1,800 for eight weekend hours against RM1,500 on weekdays, H Space is RM1,200 for four hours outside working hours against RM900, WORQ's Subang and Bandar Utama halls need at least one usher at RM100 an hour beyond standard weekday hours, and we add a flat RM150 for any time outside 9am to 6pm.
